Captain's Log ("the App") is an iPhone and iPad work-journal app developed by 941 Apps, LLC. This policy covers both the App and this website. The short version: you decide which repositories the App can see, and the journal it builds is yours.

Connecting to GitHub

To build your Work Map and notes, the App connects to GitHub with your authorization and imports the history of the repositories you explicitly select. It does not touch repositories you don't choose. GitHub's handling of your account and data is governed by GitHub's Privacy Statement.

What the App stores

Your imported commit activity, Work Map, generated notes, tags, and settings are stored on your devices to power the journal. Your GitHub access token is held in the system keychain. The journal Captain's Log builds is a private record for you.

Generating notes

Daily notes are generated from your commit evidence. Where note generation uses a model, the App sends the relevant commit summaries needed to produce that note and keeps the underlying commits and diffs attached as evidence. Note generation is in service of your private journal — it is not used to build a profile of you or shared with third parties for advertising.

What this website collects

This site is a static marketing page. It sets no tracking cookies and runs no third-party analytics. Standard web server request logs (IP address, user agent, requested path) are kept briefly for security and abuse prevention, then discarded.

Your control

You can change which repositories are included, disconnect GitHub, and delete the App and its data at any time. Removing the App removes its local journal from that device.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated date. Material changes will be called out in the App's release notes.
